Upcoming INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE SERIES Fathers Himself a Director

Hollywood hunk Alan Taylor is officially the son of AMC’s series adaptation of Interview with the vampire. Taylor is the Emmy-winning director behind Thor: The Dark World, as well as episodes of Mad Men and The Sopranos.

Interview with the vampire is a highly regarded Gothic horror property that dates back to Anne Rice’s 1976 novel. It has since spawned a host of books, two films, a stage performance, and other miscellaneous adaptations. Now Interview with the vampire is back for a full-scale AMC series to be produced in part by Anne Rice and her son Christopher Rice.

Variety pays off that Alan Taylor has officially signed on to direct the first two episodes of the upcoming eight-episode series. He will also join the Rice Clan as an executive producer on the first season of Gothic Romance. Taylor won an Emmy for his work on HBO’s final season The Sopranos.

AMC seems particularly satisfied with the rental. Dan McDermott, President of AMC Original Programming had this to share:

We’re putting together a real crew of dream talent on ‘Interview with the Vampire’, from Rolin Jones to Mark Johnson and now with the addition of Alan, a director with a job that could fundamentally break IMDb, not to mention the extraordinary. of Anne Rice stories and characters that captivated so many millions of fans around the world. We’re so excited to be where we are on this show, and there’s so much more to come.

Summary of the novel:

The story centers on the vampire Louis of Pointe du Lac, who tells the story of his life to a journalist. Anne Rice wrote the story right after the death of her young daughter Michelle, which inspired the child-vampire character Claudia.

Interview with the vampire will span eight episodes and debut in 2022 on AMC and AMC Plus.
