The Medicine Hat U16 Goal Diggers won back-to-back wins over the South Calgary Emo Nemos on Saturday 9-3, 10-5.

In Game 1, the Goal Diggers took a 6-2 lead at the halfway point before securing the victory. Kasey Martin and Mackenzie Tindall both led the Diggers with a pair of goals apiece while Karly Stennick, Brooklyn Schlenker, Grace Ammann, Jordan Weisgerber and Avery Weisgerber completed the scoring with one goal per play. Kyree Stern Rebmann took the victory between the pipes.

The Goal Diggers came out quickly in Game 2, scoring in the opening 30 seconds on their way to a 7-2 halftime lead. The second was all about defense as the Goal Diggers faced three 5-3 penalties but killed all three.

Tindall led the way with four goals while Kasey Martin scored two. Jaida Waldagger, Jordan Weisgerber, Sofie Kerr and Avery Weisgerber each scored one goal in the victory. Lindsy Bechtold took the win in goal.

The next action for Goal diggers is November 12 when they travel to Airdrie for the Ring of Fire tournament.

The U19A Gators faced the Bow View Bruins in a double header at Kinplex last Sunday, losing 6-2, 5-4.

Marley Rose put the Gators on the scoreboard early in game one and Dimitria Karamanos added another goal in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to beat Bow View in game one.

Game 2 against the Bruins was a much closer battle, as the Bruins were 3-2 after the first period. Preslee Starner and Allison Mason scored both Medicine Hat goals in the first period to bring them down to one at the half. Andi Suhai and Kylie Kallenberger each scored in the second half to bring the Gators together, but they couldn’t beat the Bruins.

The Gators will travel to Regina this weekend for the Regina Elite A / AA Ringette Tournament.

The U12B Surge were also at home at the Kinplex over the weekend as they swept the Strathmore Ice Breakers in doubles action, 14-6, 8-5.

The first half of Game 1 was a quick shootout with six Surge goals, all by different forwards, and four Ice Breakers goals. The game kicked off in the second half with a hat trick from Sloane Berstad to help the Surge to a 14-6 victory.

Game two followed two hours later, with another Surge hat trick, this time from forward Breana Lanuk. Lacey Gibney added her second goal of the day in the win.

The Ice Breakers came out strong early in the second half with three quick goals, closing in on one from Surge’s lead. The Surge opted for a time out and a goalie change, before scoring three more goals en route to victory.

They hit the road on Saturday for a doubles program against the Cochrane Rockies.
