Recap of the previous round

Morning wave

At Réavie finally found his putt, at least for a round. He won over 2.3 strokes for the first time in quite some time and stayed warm, his irons gaining just under three strokes in the day. Cameron Tringale used the exact same styling on the way to his 66 under 6. Adam hadwin has used a through the sack approach to shoot his best score for some time. Nate lashley rallied after a superb birdie on the second hole and posted a 67-under-5. Max Homa played with Jon Rahm and beat him by 5 while winning hits in all four categories.

notable

Rahm couldn’t birdie putts and had to settle for a round of 72. Si Woo Kim held the lead for most of the morning before pulling back a bit, shooting a first lap 68. Kevin Na shot 69.

Afternoon wave

Troy merritt’s 31 of the first nine had him within earshot of Reavie, but he couldn’t hold out for too long and finished at -5. It was the best score of this wave. Will Zalatoris, Harold Varner III, Maverick McNealy and Brandt snedeker also played well in the wave, shooting 68.

The Tour Championship Round 2 DraftKings Slate preview

PGA DFS DraftKings Showdown Pick

With approximate length being anything but criminal, putting and approaching are by far the most important stats of the week. We will highlight a few of these golfers for the second round.

  • At Reavie ($ 7,900): When Reavie gets started, his irons usually stay hot. What remains for him is his putter, one of the worst on the tour last year, that doesn’t seem like a problem yet. Its price should allow some leeway when looking for a comeback.
  • Sahith Theegala ($ 7,200): Theegala won 2.8 shots from the tee to the green today and struggled a bit with the flat stick, losing almost a stroke. If that bounces back for him tomorrow, he will move up the standings.
  • Wyndham Clark ($ 6,400): Clark started his 2021-22 campaign off on the right foot, winning hits in all four categories. Known for his putting and his drive, Clark also won a quarter-hit with his irons. If he can increase them by one notch and the putter stays hot, he will move up the rankings.

  • John Augenstein ($ 6,700): After a first round 68, having won over 2.5 strokes with his approaches and another half-shot at the start, all that needs to follow is a hot putter instead of a middle one. Augenstein tied the field today, gaining 0.05 with his putter. If that turns around today and the ball is still hitting, he will be in position for his first top 10 of his career.
