Elton John shares agonizing health update that leaves fans in tears

Sir Elton John announced the sad news on Thursday that he had been forced to postpone his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour due to lingering health concerns.

The singer shared a candid statement on social media in which he revealed he felt “considerable pain and discomfort” after a bad fall left him with a damaged hip.

He said: “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am forced to postpone the 2021 dates of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour of Europe and the UK until 2023.”

Explaining his injury, he continued: “At the end of my summer vacation I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and since then have experienced considerable pain and discomfort in my hip.

“Despite intensive physiotherapy and specialized treatment, the pain has continued to worsen and causes increasing difficulty in moving.

“I was advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get back into great shape and to make sure there are no long-term complications.”

He added: “I will be embarking on an intensive physiotherapy program that will ensure full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain.”

Elton shared the sad news on social media

Captioning the post, it simply said, “Important update on my Yellow Brick Road farewell tour.”

Fans were devastated by the news, and many left crying emojis in the comments section of her Instagram post.

Others wished Elton a speedy recovery, with one writing: “Be careful. We’ll be there.” A second said: “I wish you a speedy recovery”, and a third added: “I send you my best wishes, Sir Elton.”

It is not the first time Elton’s health affected one of his tours. Last year he was forced to interrupt a concert in New Zealand after being diagnosed with walking pneumonia hours before taking the stage.

In February 202, the Rocketman hitmaker had to cancel two of his shows on his Elton farewell tour so he could rest.
